Easton, MD, July 2007 – Take your taste buds on a world tour as epicureans converge in Talbot County, Maryland, October 5-6, 2007, for an incredible weekend of events, wine and food tastings, wine seminars, a full menu of culinary entertainment, and an International Marketplace that for the first time, allows ticket holders to purchase the wines they taste that day. Produced by Talbot County’s United Fund and Chamber of Commerce, the festivities will advance charitable giving to Talbot County’s human services, struggling families, and for building a stronger community. On Friday, October 5, 2007, starting at 6:30 PM, six innovative restaurants will offer an unforgettable and exciting night of dining experiences. Masters of food and wine, Easton chefs and sommeliers will brilliantly pair each course with the world’s top vineyards. Mason’s will feature Argentine wines while Restaurant Local pours the finest wines of France. The Inn at Easton weds their Down Under flavors with the vineyards of Australia and nearby Out of the Fire showcases their favorite American boutique wines and specialties. Scossa’s northern Italian cuisine is complemented by Italy’s world-class reds and whites, and the great wines of Spain are uncorked with each of the menu’s courses at the Inn at 202 Dover. The entire evening is a fabulous celebration of the art of pairing food and wine, Talbot County chefs, sommeliers, wine and culinary experts. On Saturday, October 6th, from 11 AM until 4 PM, the Talbot International Food & Wine Festival offers guests a rare opportunity to explore an international village filled with the diverse culture and flavors of France, Spain, Italy, Australia, Argentina and the United States via a partnership with their Embassies. Each destination will be housed in their respective pavilion highlighting the country’s finest foods, wine and entertainment – all for your tasting with one passport. One other unique aspect of this event is that this wine festival will allow patrons a chance to indulge their palettes on the spot by purchasing the goods they fall in love with, such as cheeses, wines and wine ware, and thus simultaneously insuring that vendors will highlight their best and most exceptional products. This element truly sets the Talbot International Food & Wine Festival apart. Festival-goers will have the opportunity to enjoy interactive seminars with three leading wine experts: Laurie Forster, the Wine Coach®, a certified professional with the American Sommelier Association; an Accredited Bordeaux Educator, Ray O’Mara is also a certified Wine Educator; and Bill Shepard, Wine Editor of Bonjour Paris website and the author of the book Guide to Mastering French Wines. Live and silent auctions highlight travel, vineyard tours, world-renowned wines, art, and exceptional dining experiences. Easton, rated the eighth “Best Small Town in America” by John Muir Publications, sets the stage for the international village, auctions, and entertainment.
